Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)
Overview
The EDSP is designed for dependents of active OWWA members who excel in the pre-qualifying examination conducted by the Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI).
EDSP Scholarship Benefits
- Financial assistance of up to ₱60,000.00 per school year.
- applicable to baccalaureate courses lasting four to five years at any accredited Philippine institution or university.
Qualifications for the EDSP Scholarship
General Qualifications:
- The applicant must be a child or sibling of an active OWWA member.
- No other member of the OFW family should be availing of OWWA scholarships.
For Incoming First-Year College Students:
- Single and not older than 21 years of age.
- Must be a Grade 12 graduating student.
- A minimum General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80%.
- Must be willing to enrol in a Philippine-based college or university.
For 2nd to 5th Year College Students:
- Single and not older than 30 years of age.
- Must have a minimum GWA of 85%.
Documentary Requirements for EDSP Scholarship
- Proof of identity for both the OFW and dependent.
- Proof of grades (Form 137/138, Transcript of Records, or Certificate of Grades).

Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)
Overview
The CMWSP is designed for OFWs and their dependents who wish to pursue courses in Science and Technology. The national qualifying examination is conducted by DOST-SEI.
CMWSP Scholarship Benefits
- Financial assistance of up to ₱60,000.00 per school year.
- Applicable for a 4-5 year baccalaureate course in Science and Technology.
Qualifications for CMWSP Scholarship
General Qualifications:
- Applicant must be an active OFW or a dependent of an active OFW.
- Annual family income should not exceed ₱76,000.00 or USD 2,400.00.
- No other member of the family should be availing of OWWA scholarships.
Academic Qualifications:
- Minimum GWA of 80%.
- Must enrol in a Science and Technology course at a Philippine-based university.
Documentary Requirements for CMWSP Scholarship
- Proof of grades for Grades 9, 10, and 11.
- Birth certificate.
- Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) for single applicants.
